Every poker enthusiast who has seen Liz Lieu play definitely knows the potential of this female poker professional. She is one of the new faces in the world of poker and ever since she began participating in poker tournaments, she has not failed to amaze her opponents and all other poker enthusiasts with her playing style.
Born in Vietnam on August 2, 1974, Liz Lieu has only started to make a name for herself in 2005. That was when she started to participate in professional poker events. But prior to her emergence in the real poker world in 2005, this female poker professional was already playing poker for more than a decade. She started out playing limit poker games until she eventually joined professional competitions.
Liz Lieu is one aggressive female poker professional. But what makes her different from other aggressive poker professionals is the fact that she always wears a smile that never fails to brighten poker tables.
The first time that poker professionals and poker enthusiasts witnessed her startling smile was when she joined the World Series of Poker in 2005. She entered the US$1,500 No Limit Hold'em event wherein she placed fifth and won US$168,000. Liz Lieu will be forever grateful to poker professional John Phan for encouraging her to participate in the said event because it was the start of her fame in the poker industry.
Right after such victory, Liz Lieu participated in another World Series of Poker event. It was a US$5,000 No Limit Hold'em game wherein she won twelfth place. Liz Lieu also finished in the money in a US$3,000 tournament of the World Series of Poker in the same year.
Some poker enthusiasts probably know about Liz Lieu's victory in the Festa Al Lago tournament that was held at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2005. This female poker professional joined several events that allowed her to generate winnings amounting to over US$80,000. In a US$2,500 No Limit Hold'em event, this female poker professional finished fourth place. She also joined in two other major events that both put her in 16th place.
Despite the fact that Liz Lieu has only started to play professional poker in 2005, there is no denying that she has already made a name for herself in such a short span of time. The abovementioned successes of Liz Lieu are not the only accomplishments that this female poker professional has. As a matter of fact, she has also experienced victories in her participation in other poker events such as the Gold Strike World Poker Open, the Five Diamond World Poker Classic, and the World Poker Finals.
Liz Lieu has also succeeded in her participation in poker events of the Los Angeles Poker Classic in 2006 and 2007. This female poker professional and poker giant Johnny Chan were also named "Final Table Grand Marshalls" by ESPN and the World Series of Poker in 2006.
